Our Funding Model
CVFP has been funded under a unique model for over two decades -- Alberta Health pays us differently than most physicians. Typically, when a Family Physician provides care for a patient, they bill Alberta Health a fee for that visit, and for each time they see that patient. This is called fee for service.
At CVFP when a patient chooses to join our practice, Alberta Health pays us an annual fee to provide care for that patient, no matter how often we see them for a visit.
There are a variety of physician funding models throughout Calgary and in Alberta. Our funding is unique to CVFP and is the foundation of our Health Home.
We are currently not accepting new patients.
We have had an overwhelming number of requests from Albertans interested in joining our clinic. As a result, we are pausing our new patient waitlist at this time. We will re-open our waitlist once we are ready to welcome new patients. Thank you for your support and understanding!
