Meet Your Health Team

Registered Nurses

A.J., RN

“The ability to work to a full scope in nursing within family practice is very professionally fulfilling. Being able to be a trusted provider to the patients of our CVFP health home is something I work hard to achieve each and every day.”

A.J. has been with CVFP since June 2015 and a Yellow Team RN since November of the same year. A Nova Scotian, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2000.  A.J. then completed a Digital Media program in Halifax – she was a Graphic Designer for the world’s largest water-sports company in the United States until moving back to Canada to pursue a Nursing degree. A.J. received a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2006 and worked in labor and delivery post-graduation. She then moved to Ontario for 10 years where she was an orthopedic RN. It was there that she discovered family practice nursing and has not looked back.

Family is everything to A.J.. And, so is Star Wars – you may see her around the clinic on May the Fourth dressed as a Star Wars character!  She knows far too much movie trivia and loves skiing, playing board games and working out to Supernatural.

Amy, RN

“As a Registered Nurse, I am privileged to be a part of the health journey of our patients and their loved ones. Not only do I take pride in providing competent care, it fills my career with joy to sit and be with our patients every day, whether that is listening to their stories in person or answering a question over the phone. The outstanding team at CVFP, including our patients, provides an all-around gratifying and supportive environment that encourages me to grow professionally and in line with our clinic values and mission: to provide outstanding care in a patient partnered health home.”

Amy joined the CVFP nursing team in the spring of 2020. She is a graduate of the Bachelor of Nursing program at Mount Royal University (2020), Calgary, Alberta.

Outside of nursing, Amy enjoys cooking, painting and doing anything outdoors including camping, skiing and mountain biking. As a born and raised Calgarian, she feels fortunate to have most of her family close by. Amy values spending time with her parents and three sisters. She lives a life full of love and would not wish to do it any other way.

Cheryl, RN

“Being an RN in family practice allows me to build relationships with our patients and their families. In acute care, nurses often have brief interactions with patients that end up feeling like tasks. The ongoing care that we provide with our health team allows the RN to see the patient as a whole with varied stories, successes and challenges. Fortunately, relationships are one of our core values in the clinic, and those relationships spur us toward showing integrity, pursuing excellence and seeking out innovation.”

Cheryl joined CVFP in 2011. She trained at Foothills Hospital School of Nursing, Calgary, Alberta, and has since continued learning through various university courses and seminars - primarily focussed on preventive care for cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. Cheryl shares that she is more likely to take a research paper to the beach than a novel.

Outside of her nursing role at CVFP, Cheryl can be found hiking in Kananaskis or wandering through Bowmont Park with her family and goldendoodle.

Corinne, RN

Nursing Clinical Resource

“As a Registered Nurse at CVFP, I have the honour of working together with our health team and alongside our patients as they navigate their health journey. I love being able to build relationships over time with patients through seeing them when they come into clinic for visits, as well as connecting with them on the phone. Meeting a newborn, celebrating a 100th birthday, and everything in between makes every day different and exciting at CVFP.”

Corinne celebrated her 10-year anniversary with CVFP in 2022. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2006. Since then, she has worked in public health, occupational health and now her “dream job” in primary health/community care. Corinne currently serves as a Board Member for the Alberta Primary Care Nurse's Association.

Outside of work, Corinne is busy and active with her two young children and husband exploring nature. Ask her where "dragon forest" is, a current favourite!

Jennifer, RN

Triage

“At CVFP, an important part of our missions is caring for the person as a whole. This requires understanding the connections between the social determinants of health and how each one affects our patients. As a CVFP nurse, I strive to not only care for the patient's concern, but also take time to get to know them and understand their relationships, culture and situation that impacts their well-being. Building relationships with patients is very important to me.”

Jennifer has been a member of the CVFP nursing team since January 2021. She received her Bachelor of Nursing Science from Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, and is licensed through the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta.

Jennifer is a mother of two children -- her greatest life adventure. She and her family love being outdoors and are often found camping and having adventures together in the many beautiful natural landscapes and trails throughout Alberta.

Jordan, RN

“My role as a Registered Nurse at CVFP is a unique opportunity to provide care throughout every stage of a patient's health care journey. Every day offers a unique set of challenges and I love that caring for patients within their health home fosters trusting relationships, encourages patient participation and offers excellent continuity of care. Empowering patients to be active participants in their health care journey is such a vital opportunity in promoting lasting health and wellness.”

To begin her nursing career, Jordan was welcomed to the CVFP nursing team in the spring of 2021. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta.

As a new Calgarian, Jordan enjoys spending her time outside of work exploring the city and mountains with her boyfriend and new puppy Oslo.

Linelle, RN

“Working as an RN at CVFP gives me the opportunity to support and care for our patients through all the stages of life from newborn onwards, encompassing a wide variety of health and wellness needs. I feel honored and privileged to be part of their journeys and to be a part of their health care team.”

Linelle has been with CVFP since 2011. She is a graduate of the Foothills Hospital School of Nursing, Calgary, Alberta, and is a member of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta. As part of her nursing experience, she has worked in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, an oral surgeon's office and Alberta Health Services Health Link.

Outside of work, Linelle enjoys daily walks with her big golden retriever boy and beach time whenever she gets the chance.

Loree, RN

Triage

“CVFP's funding model has provided the opportunity to have this unique role as Triage RN in a clinic setting. Working closely with our physicians, I am able to perform many of my nursing skills with patients booked to see an RN for their care, all of which are within my scope of practice. Whether providing care to patients in a phone consult or face-to-face, I feel fortunate to be able to build relationships with many of my patients.”

Loree celebrated 15 years with CVFP in the fall of 2022.  She began her experience as a Travel Clinic nurse as well as a Triage RN and has been primarily a Triage RN since 2010. Prior to joining CVFP, her nursing experience was mainly on acute Surgical units in several hospitals within Calgary and Edmonton.

Sarah, RN

Triage

“The role of the registered nurse at CVFP is one of a kind and truly innovative in that we are able to work to our full scope of practice, providing patient partnered care from birth and beyond. I am privileged to care for others throughout their lifespan, providing health promotion and disease prevention while working alongside an amazing team of professionals who place high emphasis on our leading values.”

Sarah has been part of the CVFP nursing team since 2010. She is a graduate of Athabasca University Nursing program at Mount Royal College, Calgary, Alberta. Prior to nursing, Sarah completed a degree in Kinesiology from Thunder Bay University, Ontario, and worked as a Registered Massage Therapist for many years.

Sarah enjoys spending time with family doing outdoor pursuits such as mountain/fat biking, Nordic skiing, hiking and camping.

Sheena, RN

“I love that CVFP’s model allows for a collaborative team approach when it comes to patient care. It’s so great to work with a diverse group of health care providers to support patients in a variety of ways as they go through different stages of life - and all under one health home.”

Sheena has been a part of the CVFP nursing team since 2011. She obtained a Bachelor of Nursing in 2008 from the University of Manitoba. After graduating, Sheena worked in a trauma focused unit at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Upon moving to Calgary and prior to joining CVFP, Sheena held positions at the Alberta Children's Hospital and in occupational health.

Sheena enjoys spending time with her husband and trying to keep up with their two very active boys, eating good food and spending time outdoors.

Stacey, RN

“In my role as an RN at CVFP, I am pleased to have the opportunity to work to a full scope of practice, completing complex tasks from physicians and performing clinical nursing skills. I strive to fulfill a holistic approach, providing care to patients across their lifespan by phone and in-person in their health home.”

Stacey has been with CVFP since 2017. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing through Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario. Since then, Stacey has completed courses in Trauma and Perinatal Nursing. Early on in her career her passion was in hospital nursing in Postpartum and Pediatric Neurosurgery/Trauma. After relocating to Calgary in 2003, Stacey’s nursing journey evolved into more of a community-based focus, working as a Teletriage Nurse at Alberta Health Services Health Link, and most recently, joining the team at CVFP.

When Stacey is not caring for patients, you will find her camping, downhill skiing in the mountains and traveling with her family. She loves attending live music at intimate venues and jamming along to 90's tunes in her SUV.
